Your Home

All rooms come fully furnished and have ample space for our residents to make it their own. We find that some residents prefer to have their own furniture and we accommodate this wherever possible as we feel strongly that The Limes is the residents’ home and we therefore want them to make it feel like it is very much their own.

All our rooms are non-smoking and are located on the ground floor providing easy access to the entire home and garden for all residents.

The rooms are freshly decorated for each new long term resident and new flooring is put in place where needed.

We have been able to accommodate pets in exceptional cases, although we do also have pet visit days where residents can enjoy interacting with them.

We have a variety of rooms to cover all tastes, preferences and level of facilities required (subject to availability). Please contact the home to arrange an appointment to come and visit us so that we can go through the available options with you.

We have two newly refurbished lounges at The Limes which provide ample space and seating for our residents to socialise, take part in activities, or just sit and observe if that is their preference.

Both lounges provide plenty of natural light and their bright, colourful décor creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests and their visitors.

Leading off the main lounge is a library room with a varied choice of books and games for residents to use. It also opens directly out onto our beautiful garden meaning residents can easily enjoy the outdoor area when the sun is shining.

The front lounge is quieter and is perfect for some personal reading time or having a late afternoon nap. Often visiting family members come to this lounge if they want to spend some private time together as a family.

Our beautiful internal garden provides an outdoor space for our residents to safely enjoy sitting in the sun and spending time with nature.

If residents enjoy gardening we encourage them to nurture their hobby by planting seeds and flowers. Both staff and residents have the pleasure of watching the different plants flourish with the changing of the seasons.

The garden provides a perfect sun trap for those of our residents who enjoy spending more time outdoors and want to benefit from the fresh Lincolnshire air. It also plays host to our regular summer barbeques (English weather permitting!).

Unlike many other homes, The Limes is a single storey home, thus all residents have free un-restricted access to the garden. We find that this is beneficial to all the residents who often like to walk around the whole home and in and out of the garden throughout the day.

Being an internal garden, we are also secure in the knowledge that the residents can enjoy the garden independently and safely.

We offer residents the following facilities:

• Hairdressing in our purpose built salon

• Manicurist – hand and feet

• Massage – head, foot and body

• WI-FI internet access and Skype facilities

• TV point in each room

• Refurbished bathing facilities

• A varied and tailored activities programme.

The Limes offers three freshly cooked meals a day with a range of choices including a vegetarian option. Our chefs freshly prepare the food daily in our fully equipped kitchen.

Our menus are developed by our chef in close collaboration with the home manager and an extensive consultation takes place with residents into their preferences. Feedback is welcome at any time from residents and relatives as to the variety of the menus and these are also discussed in more depth at the residents’ and relatives’ meetings.

Any new chefs are carefully selected and vetted by our existing chefs to ensure that they maintain the high culinary standard required at The Limes.

All our cakes are baked in The Limes kitchen and each resident receives a freshly baked cake on their birthday to share and celebrate with the other residents and visitors.

Any prospective resident wanting to reside at The Limes is welcome to visit and have a meal at the home to see if the food is suitable for their particular needs and tastes.

The Limes is the residents’ home, and therefore, visitors are welcome at any reasonable time. We only ask that you do not visit over meal times as this is a special time for all of our staff and residents to sit together and enjoy their lunch with each other as company. You are, however, more than welcome to join us at mealtimes if pre-arranged. Visitors are also welcome at the resident’s request to all events held at the home.

Residents can usually receive visitors in their own room or in one of the lounges or, in the dining room outside of meal times.

The quiet village of Scopwick provides a pleasant location for a picturesque walk or picnic next to a pleasant stream that runs past the local church and village pub. However, we do ask that visitors wishing to take residents off the premises should speak to the Senior Member on duty first to ensure that any medication can be provided and that the trip out is within the capacity of the resident.
