I have always felt the need to be creative and let my imagination run wild. As a child I would get swept up in swashbuckling stories and fairytales like Peter Pan or the Brothers Grimm, these stories have stayed with me and text from them often features in my designs, along with folklore sayings and folk art influenced imagery.

Books of contemporary and classic jewellers and artisans, found objects that take me back into history and illustrations by artists like Arthur Rackham fill my shelves. These images and objects are the starting point for each piece that I make. I design and develop my ideas then make them by hand using mostly traditional techniques. I love that the processes I use to forge, form and cast precious metals have been used for centuries, this link the past is something I find so exciting.

The alchemy of working with silver and gold never fails to fascinate me, it is so magical how something like a piece of blackened and beaten wire can be formed, cleaned and polished into a precious item of jewellery that can mean so much to the wearer.

This is just a little snapshot of what I do and why, I hope it gives you an insight to how my pieces come to life before you hopefully wish to wear them.
