Wasn’t that A*M*A*Z*I*N*G? Who saw it? Blood Moon name comes from the very distinct red tint, but it is actually a total lunar eclipse: usually the moon gets its shine from the Sun indirect light, but when the Moon sits completely and directly behind the Earth, no light can reach it -please see the diagram on my Instagram if it helps- EXCEPT the red light, those can bend around the Earth more easily, giving the Moon the distinct red tint.
