Candidate Details
I am seeking a career as a first officer. I have worked for the past three years as a flight instructor at working at Durham Tees Valley and Newcastle airports. This has given me considerable experience in commercial flying, as well as enabling me to concentrate on my own skills as a pilot in order to teach these effectively to students. My current role requires me to be flexible with my schedule through 6 to 7 days a week as well as forward planning for upcoming flights, fuelling and pre flight briefings. I also ran the school during the weekends, which has enabled me to gain a better understanding of both the flying aspect of the school and the operational and costing side of the business. I have an extensive background in customer service roles as well as sales and retention. My employment outside of aviation is very much about gaining and retaining customers. Although my employment goal has been to fund my training, I acknowledge that I have developed a wealth of skills that are transferable to flying roles. I have worked as a member of a team with tight targets and had to communicate to a wide customer base. Within each of my non-flying jobs I have surpassed the targets set me and been awarded two Customer Service Awards. I feel that working as a team, under pressure, has been good preparation for the cockpit environment. I set myself the highest of standards and endeavour to improve every day. I believe that this method of marginal gains leads to continuous improvement and accuracy in my work, which I would hope, would benefit my flying in a commercial environment such as yours My pilot qualifications and related background include the following: • Total flight time 1230 hours • Experience in flight instruction and flying school operations • First time Passes in ATPL ground examinations • ME/IR completion February 2014 • Multi Crew Co-ordination course completion June 2014 • More than seven years customer service and sales experience in finance. From an early age my ambition was to become a pilot and since leaving school I have worked towards this goal. I have had some financial support from my family but have worked in two major call centres in order to fund my training. I spent a short time in Canada exploring training opportunities and after successfully converting my PPL to the Canadian standard I decided to come back to the UK to complete my training. I would love the opportunity of joining your company and developing my skills further. Although I do not currently hold a rating for your aircraft, I have every confidence I could pass the course if an arrangement could be made. I am happy to fulfil any commitments or bonds needed, and I think my CV shows I have a track record of loyalty to my employers. I am a hard worker and accustomed to shift working and additional duties. I would be happy to discuss with you any requirements you may need of me.
